0716 FASHION & TEXTILES FOUNDATIONS
Semester, 1 credit
Prerequisite: None
Students study ready-made clothing, pattern and fabric selection, sewing machines, equipment and techniques. Course content includes the study of fibers, fabrics, fabric finishes, design and clothing care. Student projects are pin cushion, nine-patch pillow, boxer shorts, and tee-shirt. There is also a “recycled” project using an old T-shirt. There will be a lab fee charged for this class. Students must be able to purchase fabric and notions for each project.
