5316   TRANSPORTATION PROCESSES

Semester, 1 credit

Prerequisite: Transportation Systems

Transportation Processes is a specialized course designed to explore humankind’s development of the transportation systems and associated components.  The historical development of transportation is first explored.  Once this background is developed, the transportation system is “taken apart” and components of each system are studied.  The students will develop a flight plan and fly simulation on the computer. The use of small gas engines is explored and developed along with the use of robotics as a form of transport. Career ladders and specific jobs are introduced. All of the concepts are reinforced through laboratory activities involving individual and group work.  There will be a fee charged for this class.
