Welcome to Mrs. Chriswell's

Home Page

Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Susanne Chriswell. I teach fifth grade at Riley Elementary School. I am a graduate of Ball State University. I am currently working on my masters degree through Indiana Wesleyan University. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

Lifeskills are taught in the fifth grade. The Lifeskills of Truth, Trust, Active Listening, Personal Best, and No Put-Downs are practiced on a daily basis in our classroom.

We will hold a class election soon after school begins. This is a fun way to learn about responsibility in the classroom. Everyone will have a chance to participate in this democratic learning experience.

We will be learning about the Six + Traits in Language this year. How exciting! A new adventure for us! We will also read trade books throughout the year. One outstanding book is Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. This is a very fascinating book about two best friends during the Holocaust.

We will do research projects throughout the year using the Internet and other resources. This promises to be a meaningful experience for our students. We will visit the computer for instruction with Mrs. Pierce once every three weeks. Our class will attend the lab on a weekly basis.
