Welcome to AP Economics. 

 This is a full year Advanced Placement Economics course designed to replace the one semester Economics course all seniors must pass to graduate.  This course will explore the fundamentals of Microeconomics first semester and the fundamentals of Macroeconomics the second semester. This class meets Monday through Friday for 50 minutes.  All material will be taught by the end of April to allow for preparations for the AP Exam toward the beginning of May.  We will have 92 instructional periods during the first semester and 70 instructional periods during the second semester before exam review begins.  After school review sessions for the AP Exam will also be available beginning after Spring Vacation. 

First Semester:

This is a course that explores concepts in Microeconomics.  Students will learn about economic topics that concern individual consumers and producers such as, demand, supply, price, elasticity, scarcity, choice, opportunity cost, PPF, markets, economic decisions, competition, competition, role of the government in economics, trade and comparative advantage,  and the labor market.  Students will also develop economic questioning and analysis skills and be able to interpret a variety of economic models.
