Computer Operations provides opportunities for students to learn computer hardware, software, basic network design, and the fundamentals of network administration. Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and documentation of equipment specifications are other units covered in this course. Upon completion of this class, students can be prepared to take the MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) Certification exam. Students entering this program are expected to have significant computer knowledge.
Students completing this program as juniors may enter the ICE program as seniors for related work experience or enroll in other career programs that emphasize computer applications. Upon graduation, students continue their education at the postsecondary level in both 2 and 4-year degree programs including computer engineering. Students may test out of the
