Sale flyer (Balance)

Using InDesign, recreate the flyer and rearrange the words to make both a symmetrically balanced layout and an asymmetrically balanced layout. Feel free to add visual elements such as rule lines, triangles, arrows, or boxes/rectangles to enhance your page design. You may also change the font and style of text as long as the general hierarchy remains the same.

As a beginner, one of the hardest things learn is to “break out of the box,” especially when working with text. In your design, you can enlarge elements, repeat elements, overlap elements, run some elements off the page, add texture to or crop certain elements, or add special effects such as transparencies, blurs, or glows. The list of ways to spruce up a design is endless, but don’t go overboard, and only add emphasis to specific, important elements.

Be able to identify at least one major strategy of balance in your asymmetrical composition.
