Video Conferencing Sites & Virtual Tours

This page will give you links to visit for videoconferencing ideas, events and electronic field trips.  Remember that some events are free and others do charge a fee! 

With budget cuts and increased transportation costs - try a virtual field trip, electronic field trip or video conference!  Be sure to allow time for testing to make sure your conference or field trip is a success.

NCCSC is capable of IP conferencing, so give it a try.  We have Polycom equipment in each elementary school as well as the high school/middle school.  NCCSC Technology is available for assistance!

Mote Marine Laboratory in FL has distance learning programs thru www.seatrek.org available for a fee.  Located in Sarasota, Florida, Mote Marine Laboratory is an international center for the study of marine and environmental sciences. It's also home to the world's largest shark lab, the Jane and David Allen Manatee Exhibit, the Roy and Susan Palmer Sea Turtle Exhibit and much more. National Baseball Hall of Fame - Great for Black History Month or Women's History Month.  Be sure to click on the link on their page for 10 thematic units!  Uses IP or ISDN.
Virtual Field Trips at the MSU Museum! - Virtual Outreach Program at Michigan State Univ. - Check out the Science and Social Studies links on the left.  IP conferencing available. - Many are Free! The Indianapolis Zoo - Click on Education.  Don't forget to check other zoo sites to see what they offer.
