9901/99029905  ELECTIVE PE/STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING I

Semester, 1 credit

Prerequisite: B- average in P.E. II or Instructor permission

 

This course is to develop an introduction to the fitness components-muscular strength, muscular endurance, functional flexibility, human anatomy, and basic human movement during the first semester.  Emphasis will be placed on correct lifting technique and improvement of fitness level. Students will participate in four days of weight training and one day of speed development and functional exercises.  Each succeeding semester will include further instruction on lifting techniques, nutrition, and program development.
