Students will concentrate on both the physical and cultural aspects of man, the interchangeable aspect of the impact man has on his physical environment and the impact the physical environment has on man.  Areas of special interest to be studied will include North American Indians, development of cultural institutions and the development of simple societies to more traditional and modern societies.  Anthropology is the study of man, his ability to create, to think and to bring forth new ways of living.  There will be a fee charged for this class.

 

Students will be able to identify the anthropologist’s process of observing and analyzing human behavior.  Student recognition of theories and principles of culture formation, growth, function and change will be attained.
