not enough hours

I am currently having problems getting more hours and i know that the fast food will pick up after the holidays but we have just hired a bunch of new people.. what should I do to increase the number of hours?

Volunteer to work whenever. Be available for them to call you when someone calls in sick. Hours will get better, but it may be a few more weeks.
