In InDesign, develop a brochure for either a hobby that you enjoy, a topic that interests you, or with an “about me” theme. Almost anything can work as long as you clear it through me. Usually, the more creative the better.
This will be a full-color, full bleed brochure, printed one page front and back. The only restrictions are that the flat size (the unfolded size) of the final piece will need to be 8.5X11 or smaller and some feature of the document (either the flat size, the folded size, or some other internal element) must make use of the golden rectangle. The rectangle can be any size, but it must maintain “golden” proportions. We went over how to draw a golden rectangle during demonstration in class.
You may use any fold that you choose. A little research online will reveal a myriad of different ways you can fold your brochure. We’ve gone over some of these in class. Use your creativity about how the design interacts with the fold and overlaps.
Be sure to pay attention to how your pages “back up” for print and that they will fold down correctly.
